On the plane bring a cd player or mp3. In the park you don't really need much but be sure to wear your swim suite to the parks in case of a water ride! Since it is your first trip to Disney World I would get mickey mouse ears with your name on the back! Hope this helps!!! Have a magical trip!!!!!!!!!

Depending on what time you land, you make go to a park before you check into your hotel. So keep that in mind when you dress and pack your carry on for the plane. My kids bring an IPOD, simple snacks and a set of Walkie Talkies, that way when we do split up we remain in contact.

Top Ten Things To See(for all ages)

Fantasmic
Its Tough to Be a Bug
Honey, We shrunk the Audience
Beauty and the Beast
The Great Movie Ride
Illuminations
All the parades
Cindercellabration

Top Rides for each Park

Magic Kingdom
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Haunted Mansion, now under construction
Mickey's Phillharmagic
Toon Town

Epcot

Soaring California
Mission Space
Finding Nemo

MGM

Everyone will tell you something different when it comes to what to do at WDW. For a first timer I suggest going to the Disney website www.disney.go.com and click travel and Walt Disney World, go to parks and look at the attractions, what you like will be different from what your sister likes. Make a list of things that sound the best to you and name that list "must do" then make a second list of things that sound good but dont fall under must do (everything at WDW is fun by the way) call it "want to do" . Everything not on your two lists is if you have time stuff. Use the Fastpass system on the more popular rides and while you are waiting for your fastpass time you can often do some of the things on your want to do list or have time list.

Also look at the maps of the parks and locations of the attractions, if your trip is a bit off you can order custom maps from Disney for free, or get a map of each park when you get there. See what attractions are close togther and make a plan of action based on what you want to do most. Use Extra Magic hours if possible to extend your time at the parks (if your staying at a Disney resort)

Example: Your at Magic Kingdom and want to ride Splash Mountian, Pirates and Haunted Mansion. Go to Splash and get a fastpass, then go ride Pirates which has no fastpass, if you have time ride Haunted Mansion also or just before going to Splash grab a fastpass for Haunted mansion.

Also, lines that look long often move pretty fast so dont get discouraged.

Most of all, take your time and have fun.

For the plane, take a book, hand held video game, something to read, or my favorite, sleep.

Things to take into the park:
Wear comfortable shoes and clothing, sunscreen, money, camera and plenty of batteries, film or flash media. Any prescription meds needed, pain killer, imodium, acid eaters, baby wipes/waterless soap.

Also loking at the Disney website will get you excited about all the cool stuff to do there.

1. Haunted Mansion (MK)
2. Pirates (MK)
3. Jungle Cruise (MK)
4. Tower of Terror (MGM)
5. Rock N' Rollercoaster (MGM)
6. Test Track (Epcot)

About "cool" things to buy while you're here.. I wouldn't waste money on tourist stuff, but if you MUST buy something get a T-shirt. Just make sure it's something you would actually wear and then it isn't a waste of money.
