I am planning to go to Disney world from Aug 27-Sept 2 ’07 and i was wondering how busy it will be. I live close to Cedar Point and I know the kids go back to school around this time and the park is rather bare. I know that Disney world probably wouldn’t be bare, but would it be a little less busy then July and mid-August. Thanks

It will still be hot & humid there. I don’t know about crowds, I feel like Disney World is almost always crowded- I usually go in September after the kids are back in school, but I agree it will probably be less so than in July.
Make sure you take advantage of PhotoPass. When a Disney Cast member takes a photo of you, like at the front of the park, keep the card they give you and every time you see a Disney photographer, add another photo to the card. After your trip you can access all these photos and order any you like, or even a disc with all of them. Make sure you use the same card every time.
Have a great time!!
It’s one of the greatest times to go really. it’s not empty but you won’t have to stand in line for hours of hours. Make sure to visit the four parks and have the time of your life. Disneyworld really is the happiest place on earth.
It will be hot and have long lines.
Tip-Go to the least popular attractions early in the day and go to the most popular ones later (the lines will be shorter-less than an hour wait)
We were there last August about a week before this (week before school started) and I didnt feel it was that crowded. The weather will be hot and humid, plan on rain also, maybe thunderstorms. Use fastpass for the big stuff and fill in your time with some of the rides with shorteer lines. just have fun. I would expect it to be a little slower if school has started, but there really is no slow time at WDW these days.
To accurately answer your question…yes it will be less busy on the dates you are coming than at peak summer times of July through Mid August however you are coming on a holiday weekend (labor day) which always brings a fairly large crowd. Be sure to book your dining well in advance! Have a great time!
before you go make sure you know your absolute must then aim for those get fast passes as soon as possible make sure you go back to hotel/campsite if staying on disney property for naps/swim in pool or just some down time if your not staying on site then when you get to hot and tired take in a show in ac building we went in dec/jan of 2006/2007 and it was in the eighties and very busy it was new years we brought are own water into the park this is what saved us if at all possible go to a water park and do not forget to have fun fun fun
long lines, heat, thrills
1. Your feet will feel PAIN – you will be limping.
2. You will feel an animal drive for ice water.
3. The "huge attractions" and "roller coasters" aren’t nearly as exciting as any regular theme park.
4. You will grow hate people – these beings that give off even more heat and get in your way. By the last day, you will want to punch someone out. You will also become familiar with the smell of body odor and gas, walking into these invisible walls of odor regularly.
5. You will soon fear the sun if you lack sunscreen the first day
6. Getting an ice cream cone is a waste of money because you’ll have about two seconds to eat it, before it’s all over your hand and you’re left with a melted mess. Best to stick with sundaes – even shakes are piled high worthlessly.
7. If you’re stuck in the 4:00 thunderstorm, best to find cover right away. You get soaked and you’re stuck looking like a drenched rat because it’s so humid and your clothes don’t dry. This may lead you to get cranky and start yelling at family members.
These are the only bad things. There are many good things.
YES! You’ll be visiting during a great time! August 12th through mid September are Wonderful Weeks at Disney. This means lower room rates on Disney Resorts (non Disney resorts drop their rates this time of year as well) and a lot less crowds. You will still have to deal with some pretty serious heat and humidity (August can be the most brutal), but at least the crowds shouldn’t be an issue. The Magic Kingdom will be having their Pirate and Princess Party that time as well! This is a great way to see the MK for a lot less money and have a swell time. The Pirate & Princess Party runs on select nights from Aug 31st until September. Tickets are about $39 a person and you are allowed to enter the Magic Kingdom around 4pm and stay until midnight or 1am. This is PLENTY of time to see this park and for less than half the price! Plus, you’ll get to not only see Wishes fireworks spectacular before the park closes to regular guests, but you’ll get to see a special fireworks show just for the party, an adventure parade, receive free chocolate and jewels, and much more! It is highly recommended! To order tickets, just visit http://www.disneyworld.com
You can save on these tickets by ordering online. They are a few dollars more at the gate. Also, if you have a pre-schooler, they might enjoy a free concert with their favorite Playhouse Disney characters! Little Ones Travel Time begins at the end of August and runs through October. Concerts run on select dates at the Disney-MGM Studios and tickets are available inside the park on a first come first serve basis.
