Be sure to bring enough clothes for an afternoon change and don't forget your rain poncho! Crowds may be heavier than you would expect. First, you have the labor day crowds. Many people with young kids like to go during the first couple of weeks of September. Second, Disney has a free dining promotion going during those dates. So that will bring in extra people. Also, this is a big travel time for people from England, so they will be there. I traveled last year in the early fall during the 'slow' season and I was shocked at the number of people in the parks! I saw lines over 90 minutes long for some of the popular rides. If you are really concerned with the crowds, you may want to use an itinerary and touring plans service. We used Custom Mouse Plans with wonderful results. With the plans they made, we never waited in any of the long lines! In fact, we rarely waited more than 10 minutes for any ride. I highly recommend them if you want to avoid lines.
