Everyone take a lot of time to plan their annual holidays, the whole year you are making plans to have the best holiday, but some things are inevitable, and they ruin your holiday. As we all know that illness, and misfortune can come at any time no matter how much careful you have been. Therefore, you must always stay prepared to deal with any such situation.
It is very normal that due to the change of the place, the weather may not suit you, or the food does not suit you, and you become ill because of it. Many illnesses are very common among the tourists travelling to any place of the world including gastric illnesses, salmonella, and E. coli. Therefore, every tourist must take good care of himself when travelling to Caribbean, or any other place.
One should keep in mind that prevention is always better than cure. It is always better if you take care of yourself, and your loved ones rather than waiting to take measures after getting an illness. However, if you become ill even after taking lots of care about your health, you need to take some steps to recover from that illness. In Caribbean, most of resorts and hotels have their own doctors, but in case they are not available, you will definitely find one in the nearby area.
For medical treatment, you can also get the assistance of your tour operator. If he is not available, then you must ask the resort, or the hotel reception to get you to a doctor immediately.
You would probably need to pay for your treatment there, but you can claim those expenses back, after returning home and that is why you must keep all the receipts of the treatment expenses. When buying your travel policy, you must also check whether your travel insurance policy will fly you home to get treatment. For minor illnesses, they may not oblige, but it can be your best option if you get some serious illness, or receive some injuries, and need a stay at some hospital.
The cases of gastric illnesses have increased greatly over the year, in the Caribbean. This is because of the unhygienic condition of the food that you eat at the resorts, and the hotels. If you fear that the food is not hygienic, then you must not eat that food.
If the food was included in the tour package of the resort, or the hotel where you were staying, then you can claim against them. Once you get back to UK, you must immediately seek some legal help to settle your claims against the tour operator. Do not try to work out the claim with the tour operator by yourself.
Food poisoning is the major issue that the tourists have to face when they are on a holiday to any place such as Caribbean, therefore you must take care of this if you do not want to ruin your holiday. You can also seek advice regarding the hotels, and the resorts from other tourists who have been there before.
