Package holidays have changed substantially over the years as holidaymakers begun to want more than just two weeks in the sun. The initial novelty has simply vanished and people now want to experience more and journey to new destinations. In the early days of package vacations most people went to the eastern side of Spain along the coast. Now it is possible to get a package vacation from the UK to Mexico or the Dominican Republic.

One of the ways that package vacations have altered is in the hotels themselves. Traditionally you got either an evening meal with breakfast or just breakfast now this has been made better. All Inclusive holidays are very popular now as people can plan their budget better for their vacation time away. Particularly with the exchange rate fluctuations you never really know what it will cost you for drinks and food when you get on holiday. With an all inclusive vacation you know that all your food and beverage as well as some activities are all paid for in advance.

Hotels have got bigger and bigger and now have evolved in some cases into hotel complexes where you could be holidaying in on of 5 buildings and still be staying in the same hotel as your friends who are a 10 minute stroll away. Rather than just one main pool there may be three or four. Some people like this and some do not, nevertheless there is even a package vacation for them. Some of the main vacation companies offer small traditional styled family run hotels in calmer areas of the resorts.

You can now get a package vacation that includes a holiday cruise and a weeks stay in accommodation with the same companies cruise ship. These holidays are broadly speaking known as cruise and stay and are usually very well priced. You do not have the cost of a two week cruise but can still enjoy a 2 week holiday and yet still spent part of it on a cruise.

Whatever type of vacation you choose you will probably discover a package vacation that covers it. Whether it is a safari holiday in Africa or a beach holiday in Egypt you will find that a holiday firm will have what you want.
