Today, the country of Belgium is slowly becoming one of the prime tourist destinations in Europe. Located in the western part of the continent, the country of Belgium had long been shadowed by its neighbor countries of France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands in terms of tourism. But that is all changing. In fact, more and more travelers are veering away from the typical tourist destinations in Europe and are now visiting some of its lesser known countries.

Whether you are traveling to Bulgaria for business, leisure or both, all travelers are required to present a passport that is valid for another six months after the date of departure from your home country. While a return ticket is not required to be presented upon arrival, all travelers must register where they would be staying during their trip in Bulgaria with the local police authorities. Travelers such as those coming from the United States can visit the country without acquiring a visa from the embassy. It is a good idea to check with the embassy or consulate of Bulgaria in your country for the complete set of documents you would need to present prior to your arrival to Bulgaria.
If you are traveling on a budget, the best time to plan your trip is during the months of July and August. The temperatures during these months are warm enough for you to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in the mountain ranges and rolling hillsides found throughout the country. It is also during these months where you can get the best deals for your accommodations and airfares, giving you some of the extra pocket money to spend during your stay in Belgium.
There are so many things to do and so much to see while you are visiting Belgium. The capital city of Brussels is an ideal starting point for any traveler. Here, you can experience the perfect mixture of the old with the new. Modern day shopping malls selling the top fashion trends in Europe and headquarters of NATO and OECD are located right beside beautifully crafted buildings and infrastructures, many of which have been built during the 13th century.
From here, head out to the famous town of Waterloo which is situated just 10 miles from the capital city of Belgium. Known in his history as the place where Napoleon fell in battle, the town has become one of the most visited tourist destinations in the country.
Boyana Church – The Boyana Church was built during the Middle Ages. Its beautiful artworks have been considered as the forerunners of the Renaissance Art form and style used by some of the masters such as Da Vinci. Apart from these masterpieces, the arches and the walls of the church are decorated with busts of saints revered in the country.
