The globe-trotters of modern world have quite a few destinations to choose from. There are those well known European destinations which have cold climate round the year to the hot Egypt which offers its charm of old world pyramids. Global Tourists who have already been to such celebrated destinations are always in the lookout of new and exciting place to spend some quality vacation time to get away from the daily rut, which their busy lives offer.

People in Cyprus speak excellent English. The official language is Greek. But you will not have any difficulty as a tourist. However, in the remote areas you may face some problems.

In case tourists plan to enter Cyprus through land, they should remember to wear helmets, if on bikes, and they should never violate the speed limits anywhere. Few other tips to remember are that they should be above 21 years in case they wish to rent a car otherwise they can drive their own car for 90 days, provided they have valid registration.

The public transport in Cyprus is limited to only buses. In town the buses run at a frequent intervals but in the rural areas the service is irregular. So it is a wise option to hire a car, and you will be able to see the nation at your own will and at a decent price. It is a great solution to explore the countryside and see various tourist destinations. There are many car rental agencies that will willingly provide you good cars and good driver policies, and you will get full tanks upon arrival.

Limmassol is yet another town that is very popular with the wine lovers. Here you can find many festivals captivating the city for the entire year. The September Wine Festival is perhaps the best known. In case you want to shop for the handicrafts, you can go to the Folk Aet Museum. Another place where you can visit is housed the 14th century castle – Cyprus Medieval Museum. The village of Amanthus has numerous excavation sites and they can quite enthralling to watch.

Few facts about Cyprus, which may be helpful if you plan to visit are the weather in Cyprus is warm and Mediterranean which means light clothes in summers while preparing self for frequent rains in winters. Greek is the major language while English is understood as well. The currency of Cyprus is Cypriot pound which is approx 2.5 USD. Tourists are not permitted to carry any vegetables, seed, fruits or any other agricultural products without the approval from the concerned authorities. Shop a lot as there are no departure taxes.
