When you first plan your vacation, the first thing that you need to think about is whether you are going to get time off work. You do not want to plan your vacation only to find that you are not going to get time off. The other thing that you have to think about, if you have kids, is if they are going to have time off school, or whether or not they are going to go to summer school.

Flying is the fastest and easiest way to travel and this is what makes it so costly. There is hefty insurance as well on your luggage that you are not required to pay, but it is advised. When you fly anywhere you also need to take certain things with you on board that you might like to make your comfortable. Some people have to take travel sickness medication, some people like a special pillow to sleep with, and more.

Most of the time the actual flight is very comfortable with newer planes offering more leg room and seats that recline enough to enjoy a few hours rest. You are also able to watch movies on board, and there are various books, magazines, and other entertainment to keep you occupied throughout the journey.

There are tons of reasons that you would want to fly somewhere. You are either going on holiday or coming home from a holiday. Many people fly on business trips. These can last for just a day or perhaps a weekend. Sometimes business trips can be longer. You can also fly for family emergencies, or for a celebration that you want your entire family to attend. This means that you can either block book a few seats for these people, or you try to get them to each book their own tickets.

Most of the time when you are going somewhere for business purposes or for a short visit it is ideal to book your tickets cheaply just a few days before.

If you are going to rent a vehicle on your vacation, make sure that you rent with insurance, otherwise take your own international insurance with you so that you know that you are properly covered if anything was to happen on the foreign roads you will be travelling, you do not want to be stuck without insurance.

I am scared to get on a plane and I do not think I will ever ride on one. I am scared that it will crash and I know that they check everything to make sure that it is working correctly, but this can never be one hundred percent guaranteed. So I stay on the ground and ride buses. And if worse comes to worse then I will drive.

Flights (I have heard) can be very fun for a lot of people especially flight attendants because they get paid to take flights to different cities and also different states and sometimes they get lucky and they get to go to different countries.

It does not matter where you take your flights as long as you are happy with it and it is worth the cost to you. Some flights can cost a lot of money but are worth it especially if you are in the part of the plane that caters to you and it has a lot more room so that your not crammed in with everyone else. However this costs about twice as much as a regular ticket.

No matter where you are taking flights to, you should always make sure to pack everything that you may need. If you are picking up a rental car when you land then you should remember to bring your ID and your credit cards. If you are going out of state to see family you should make sure to bring enough clothing and also some spare clothing in case for an unexpected reason you have to change.

If I were to take one or more flights to any place I would always take a spare change of clothing even if I was going to be back in only a few short hours. If you bring a spare change of clothing then you are prepared and you do not have to worry about something getting spilled on you and you looking like a slob. Even if you do not drink or eat anything someone else could still spill something on you.

When taking flights make sure you have everything that you need for the flight and for after you get where you are going. Make sure you bring plenty of things to keep you busy if you are taking a long flight otherwise a flight may not be so much fun for you after you get off the plane.

First of all, ignore all your expectations. Africa will be a culture shock for most travellers and the best way to see it is to simply arrive with a totally open mind and immerse yourself fully in the culture.

Make sure you drink a lot. Buy bottled water and keep yourself hydrated at all times. With the heat you will be sweating constantly so ensure that you have a good supply to keep your hydration levels up.

Get all of the immunizations you need before you go. Disease is a big problem in Africa and can be combated by decent preparation. Take with you anti-malaria tablets as well and spray to stave off all of the mosquitoes that will vie for your blood.

Keep your money separated as much as you can for security purposes. Always know how much you have in each little stash. Never carry large sums in the same area as these can easily be stolen. Additionally keep you passport and other important possessions hidden away as much as possible.

Avoid eating western food when you are there and immerse yourself in the local cuisine. This is particularly important for those on smaller budgets as the food you will be able to buy will be extremely cheap for the most part and your dollars can go a long way.

Bargain for any purchases you make from touts. Do not let them take advantage of you and look to get a good price for any of their products of services.

Last but not least, ensure that you have invested in a good quality camera before you leave. Keep these safe and intact at all times as there will be countless opportunities to take those photos of a lifetime. Also, make sure that you have some backup memory in order to store all of the pictures you do take, as getting hold of additional memory cards or other storage devices might be tricky whilst travelling.

If you are an anxious flier then make sure you have supplies of something that will relax you. This could be some lavender oil to massage into your temples or something with a bit more kick like valium. Be prepared and you will enjoy flights rather than being on edge all the time.

One of the first things to realise in order to make flights enjoyable is that flying can be very dehydrating for your skin. You should pack a little bottle of moisturizer into your hand luggage and use it regularly to keep your skin hydrated. Skip the on flight alcohol if it is offered, as being tipsy on an aeroplane is not a pleasant experience for you or the people sitting next to you and it will only dehydrate you.

These days we are all so busy, that we rarely have time to sit back and read or catch up on movies we would like to see. Look at your time on the flight as some enforced you time and enjoy it as such. Carefully select a good book for the flight and get into it ahead of time so that you know you like it. On long flights you should try to keep the circulation going to reduce the chances of your feet and hands swelling or even more seriously deep vein thrombosis. Swollen limbs are not comfortable and so you can help this by moving around the cabin regularly, stretching and massaging your limbs.

If you are not so keen on the food, which is prepared and served on aeroplanes, then you can always request a special meal when you book your flight. Often this will be a vegetarian option and they tend to be better than the meals that are served to most of the passengers as standard. There are some airlines that also have snacks at the rear of the plane for extra hungry travelers.

With a little forethought and preparation you can make your flight much more enjoyable and pleasant than it might otherwise be. Think about what your needs are and come prepared, with the minimum amount of hand luggage to avoid hauling it all over the airport and your flights will be great from now on.

This place has been for many the image of Africa, as seen on African wildlife documentaries by the likes of National geographic.

Kenya’s masai mara also spelled Maasai mara the traditional inhabitants of the area in whose name the park is named, is in fact a continuation of the Serengeti National reserve in Tanzania.

This park is about 560 square miles but by no means Kenya’s largest. The park is famous for its wild variety of species including wildebeests, Zebra, Gazelles and a wide variety of birds to mention but a few. During the annual migration, over 1 million Wildebeest, 360,000 Thomson’s Gazelle and nearly 200,000 Zebra migrate from the Serengeti plains in July and August in Masai Mara National Park. Predators such as lions and hyena follow their circular annual route.

In Kenya unlike other parts of Africa the likes of South Africa private game reserves are rear. The Masai Mara Reserve area is administered by Narok County Council and the Mara Conservancy (under contract by the Trans-Mara county council), a local nonprofit organization formed by the local Maasai, and contains a number of anti-poaching units.

It is estimated that over 300,000 visitors mostly foreigners visit this park. The best time to visit Masai Mara Reserve is during the dry months, July through October. The grasses are long after the rainy season, and it’s a great time to see the migratory herds. The Great Migration takes place in July and August, but you are not likely to be disappointed no matter what time of the year you visit.

The native Maasai people have over the years developed a symbiotic relationship something you will find fascinating on your tour to the Masai Mara. The Masai tribesmen in their long red robes, living in a social formation in accordance to customs and rituals that are markedly different from a European way of life, are one of the chief attractions of the area too.

There are many ways to undertake a Mara Safari with a balloon safari being one of the best. Balloon safaris are done at dawn and often end with a bush breakfast. One can also engage in one of the more traditional safaris in a car or a special tourist bus. There are both Kenya safaris as well as Tanzania safaris that will help you explore the Masai Mara National Parks. You can also undertake a special bird tour. Do not forget, more than 500 species of wild birds inhabit Masai Mara, a number that grows with migration. You can take any of the three ways for a safari, you can arranged for a customized safari, be a part of a package tour from an African safari Tour Operator, or arrange for everything yourself. However, for first timers, the best option is to become a part of the African safari Tour Operator. Book in advance, if you want to tour in the migration season.
