Considered A Cruise?

March 12, 2008 by Lisa · Leave a Comment

Personally, I have never been on a cruise but I know people who have and they rave about them. There are plenty of reasons for considering a cruise.

You could just want to get away from it all. There is no rushing around. There are few if any problems with missing your arrival times. There are lost of other reasons that maybe I should consider a cruise in future:

  • It’s affordable. All vacations cost money and cruises are no less expensive than other quality destinations when you consider all that is included.
  • A chance to do new things. Both on and off ship, the facilities are fantastic and there is sure to be sonmething that will help you pass the time.
  • There is plenty to see. You can travel to an ever increasing varitey of laces on a large selection of cruise lines.
  • Meet new people. Even though they are massive ships, they’re friendly communities too. It’s also a great place for single people too and not reserved for the over 60s as many people think.

I think I need to look into this further……

Cruise Ships: The Common Advantages And Disadvantages

February 26, 2008 by Sammy Maseko · Leave a Comment

by Sammy Maseko

Cruise ships are one of the hottest travel entertainers today, but unfortunately, when it comes to obtaining a passport, there are many individuals who wait until the last minute. Last minute passports can be obtained in the event of an emergency, but most require at least a week or more to process. You will not be automatically granted a passport; instead you are required to apply for one. Almost all individuals that apply for a passport are granted one, but planning ahead is the best option. If error is made on the information you supplied, you will have enough time to fix it before your cruise ship departs.

The proper identification is needed to board a cruise ship. Your passport and your driver’s license are not the only forms of documentation that you should bring onboard. If you are covered under a health insurance plan, you are encouraged to bring your health insurance cards. In the event you fall ill while on vacation, your insurance cards will allow you to obtain the needed medical attention.

When traveling aboard a cruise ship, you are urged to give a copy of the cruise ship’s itinerary to multiple friends and family members. This will make it possible for you to be contacted in the event of an emergency. When registering for a cruise ship, you may also be required to give the contact information of someone that should be contacted in an emergency. Your first thought may be to give the contact information of your spouse, children, or a close friend. When doing so, it is important to make sure that they will be on land and accessible.

Advantages and disadvantages

All-inclusive cruise ships are cruise ships where just about everything is included. The cost of your drinks, food, and entertainment are often taken care of. If you are wondering whether or not you should book reservations aboard a traditional cruise ship or an all-inclusive cruise ship, you are not alone. A large number of travels wonder the same thing.

To many, having foods, drinks, and entertainment provided free of charge sounds too good to be true. In some cases, it may be. While many of your food and drinks are included in an all-inclusive package, not all are. It is possible that you may be required to pay for your alcoholic beverages. There are some cruise ships where alcohol beverages are included in the package, but on others it is not.

The advantages and disadvantages of all-inclusive cruise ship vacations are important. By examining each and comparing them to what you want and need out of your cruise, you can easily determine which cruise ship vacation package is right for you.

What Is Direct Exchange Time Share?

February 23, 2008 by Febbe Wallace · Leave a Comment

by Febbe Wallace

Now, anyone can own a vacation property with timeshare. There are also other types of direct exchange timeshare aside from vacation property ownership. However, more and more people are finding themselves wanting to exchange their time shares with others because they would like to try something new. Exchanging time shares directly is not a difficult process but there are a few pointers that time share holders need to know.

The Process

Exchanging time shared property with another person is very simple. Once can use the services of a time share company (although this is more indirect), or one can do his or her own research to find the vacation properties that are of interest. When a vacation property is found, all that is left to do is to contact the member or owner of that time share and to start negotiation on directly exchanging time shares with that person.

There are many ways to contact time share owners, such as calling them directly or emailing them; the important thing is that a discussion of property specifics and availability takes place. Then it is up to the two parties to agree and arrange the direct exchange time share.

Is It Easy?

Although it may seem hard to imagine how you can find timeshare owners to exchange your timeshare properties with, the process is actually very easy. All you have to do is to “enroll” yourself into different services on the Internet.

Timeshare membership sites can facilitate the exchange of timeshare properties among its members. Basically, all you need to do is register and they can set you up with other time share owners who are a part of their website as well. Then you can contact these members directly to arrange for a time share trading.

In this type of service, you are required to pay a fee, though, regardless of whether or not the exchange was done directly or indirectly. This is because the website divulges information that would have otherwise been very difficult to come by.

Even though the Vacation Exchange Network allows you to get information from their database of subscribers who are almost all time share property holders, you might also want to try looking for time share owners by yourself.

One other way to do this is to advertise your own time shares through various online forums that will allow you to do so. Remember to search for forums that are related to time share ownership where all sorts of discussions involving time shares take place. And to be ultimately safe when it comes to direct exchange time share, you might also want to try exchanging with people whom you already know or are acquainted with, be it with friends or with people from work.

How To Get Married On A Cruise

February 20, 2008 by Amy Nutt · Leave a Comment

by Amy Nutt

Why not save time and money by combining your wedding with your honeymoon on a romantic cruise? A wedding that takes place on your cruise can be a beautiful way to start a journey together as a couple. However, it’s not quite as easy as it looks in the movies. You will need time to arrange a wedding and it is best to start at least a couple of months before your cruise leaves.

In reality, most couples don’t get married at sea, or on the actual cruise ship. In order to do this, you need to find a cruise line that has a wedding department and someone (often the captain) to perform a legal ceremony. Not all captains have the legal right to marry couples, so check this ahead of time if your heart is set on an ocean bound ceremony.

For most couples, getting married just before you leave the port or at another port of call along the way is a great compromise that can be done on any cruise line. There are a few things you’ll need to put in place ahead of time . . . often the cruise line will help you out with this. For example, you will need to decide where you will have the wedding ceremony performed, since most cruises have more than one stop.

In order to get married in a foreign port of call, you will need to have the right paperwork. Some states actually allow you to use their marriage license abroad, so make sure you check this ahead of time. Otherwise, you will need to find out what paperwork is required for the port of your choice. This will be reviewed upon arrival in the port, even if you plan to marry aboard the ship.

Other options for cruise ship marriages include tying the knot on the beach or at a local church. This will require additional arrangements, but if you really want a wedding to remember, it can really be worth the extra effort. Getting married in a foreign country may require other specifics like placing a notice in the local newspaper, before you are allowed to have a formal ceremony. This can take time, so make sure you are aware of all regulations and requirements ahead of time and if you won’t be able to complete them in time, pick another location for your cruise wedding.

One thing is for sure, you can’t just throw together a last minute cruise ship wedding. You will need time to plan it, particularly if you want to invite friends and family, since the paperwork doesn’t happen overnight. Different countries have different rules as to who can be married and what is required. Also, keep in mind that if you are married aboard a cruise ship, your wedding license may be issued by the ship’s mother country of origin or registration, which is usually outside the US. You will want to ensure that this is acceptable in your home country, otherwise it will be necessary to conduct another wedding once you return.

Having your wedding on a cruise can be a wonderful experience, if you have prepared correctly. Enjoy a romantic wedding aboard the ship or on a beach and then continue with your honeymoon . . . that part is already taken care of! Just remember that you need to take time to plan everything out, just like with any other wedding arrangements. Set it up ahead of time and enjoy!

Disney Cruise Deal 7 Tips

February 1, 2008 by Daniel Falk · Leave a Comment

by Robbie Claus

1. First and Foremost-Always deal with a professional Cruise Specialist who has access to the latest and greatest Disney Cruise Deals. While this may be logical to most, people like to shop around and ask their friend’s who have been on a cruise. Sometimes that kind of advice can end up costing you more.

2. Location-Location-Location!!! While this is true enough for real estate, we are talking about Cruises. And yes, your cabin can be considered real estate for the time you rent it out. Not only does it count in cruise deals, but the size of your home away from home also counts. Inside cabins will always be less expensive. Most experienced cruisers already know this. But here is how that plays out. A cabin with a porthole (Ocean view) will come at a bit higher cost than the Inside, and a Verandah (balcony) cabin will be more. Also, there are several cabins on board that have an obstructive view and these would be offered at a considerable savings.

3. Off peak times will offer you magical rates for your Disney cruise. It is possible to get a discounted deal on Disney cruise if you are flexible about your travel dates. This may mean having to take the kids out of school in order to travel during January, early in February, May, the later part of August through October and even the parts of November and December that aren’t holiday weeks. Booking your Disney cruise at least 3-6 months in advance are also highly recommended to assure you the best deals possible.

4. Onboard credits will give you extra money to spend while on your Disney cruise. These offers are usually given as an incentive to book within a time frame so you must be able to put your money down in order to confirm these. Shipboard credits will usually be between $25-$50 per cabin and can be used for all your purchases aboard the ship. You can’t get money back for these but you can certainly find places to spend your new found money!!

5. Discounts such as resident and or military are available for select sail dates. A good cruise speciailist should be able to let you know when these are available for you to take advantage of.

6. If you are thinking about a land and sea package, Disney will usually offer to put this in the form of a package and imply that you will get the best deal that way. However, a cruise specialist can work this up both ways and will usually find that it saves you money when you book your cruise seperate from your land vacation. The most important thing is that you get the best deal and that is what an agent can figure out for you.

7. As a special cost saving tip for families of 5-you have options to save money by booking 2 connecting cabins as opposed to a more expensive Deluxe Family Stateroom. You would not only save money but you would gain a bathroom and more privacy.

Little Known Tips On Finding Great Deals On Cruises

January 29, 2008 by Frank J. Snyder · Leave a Comment

by Frank J. Snyder

Many people who have had the chance to enjoy a vacation aboard a cruise ship often have had such a good time that they simply love to take another, similar vacation. Even those who haven’t been on a cruise before dream of being able to sail on a cruise ship and enjoy all the fun and excitement that such a holiday can bring. Usually it comes down to finances and people need to locate great deals on cruise tickets before they can make their holiday dream come true.

Here are a few tips that will help you find some great cruise deals and will make your next sailing vacation much less costly.

In order to find great cruise deals you have to be in the right place at the right time and you must have a good plan of action to take when you find the good deals. In the cruise industry, as in every other business, it’s all a matter of supply and demand. If the cruise line companies are fully booked and have a lot of potential customers wanting to get on board, prices will be higher and good deals will be hard to come by. On the other hand, if the cruise companies have more ships out sailing than they can fill with vacationers, discount deals will start to appear.

Any time one of the cruise lines launches a new ship and puts it into service, they have a sudden increase in their passenger capacity, especially if the new ship is a “megaliner.” This is a time when the cruise companies will offer special cruise deals to introduce people to the new vessel and to hopefully sell all available accommodations. Moreover, the other cruise line companies will often reduce their rates in order to remain competitive. Previous customers are usually the first to receive notice of such travel discounts.

One of the best ways to enjoy great deals on cruises is to be as flexible as possible with the category of ship and the type of cabin you are willing to book. It is also a good idea to book your cruise at least 90 days ahead of the departure date.

If you want to get the best cruise travel deals, it is advisable to make your reservations five to six months ahead because the rates are usually lower when the cruise ship hasn’t filled up yet. However, if you can be really flexible about your departure date, then you may also be able to find really good deals on last minute travel.

When reflecting on the available cruise deals, don’t forget that the rates for cruises include all your meals aboard ship, your entertainment, and most of the on board activities such as movies, live shows, gym usage, games and sports, as well as dance and exercise classes. All of these may be included in the price of the cruise. A lot of people are more than satisfied with all of the food, fun and activities that are included in the “all inclusive” price.

Whether you find great cruise deals or pay the full price, you should be aware that there will be a few additional expenses during your time on the ship. For example, you will be expected to tip the cruise staff and this amounts to about $10 per day. You will also have to pay for all your beverages, both soft drinks and bottled water as well as alocoholic drinks. You will also be required to pay extra for special perks like usage of the spa, yoga classes, or trips and excursions on shore.

Review Of Carnival Cruise Lines

September 4, 2007 by Lisa · Leave a Comment

The name Carnival is famous in cruising circles for good reason. The company has transformed cruising from the realm of a luxury reserved for the well-to-do to a vacation available to just about anyone.

Carnival Fun Ships Specials - Click HereCarnival pioneered the idea that shorter cruises could be profitable. At the same time, they have designed many shorter cruises that allow not only a reduced price, but the ability of busy people to take a short vacation on ship. Stressed corporate workers can now hop off to Mexico on a ship the way they might have hopped onto a plane to Vegas 20 years ago.

Along with that convenience factor has come many more entertainment options on board. Many ships in Carnivals ever-growing fleet now resemble Las Vegas hotels. Some resemble Las Vegas itself, they’ve grown so large. That has brought dozens of new forms of enjoyment for cruisers.

Gambling and musical entertainment has long been part of some cruises. But Carnival has raised it to the same heights seen in Las Vegas by offering shows that look as if they might have just stepped right off the Strip and onto the deck. If the casino-cruise concept appeals to you then Plan a Carnival Casino Cruise Today.

And the company continues to expand its shipping fleet and the number and type of voyages. The latest, the Carnival Liberty is their first to be based in Europe. From there it can sail to the South of France or the Greek Isles and many places in between. Even larger ships are about to debut. The Carnival Splendor will house up to 3,000 passengers, a population larger than many small towns in America.

They recently began a series of four and five day voyages from San Diego to Cabo and Ensenada in Mexico. These trips aboard the Elation are selling reservations like MP3 downloads - hot, hot, hot!! Travelers can take a week’s vacation in the sun, or just escape for a long weekend. It’s never been easier to plan a Carnival Weekend Getaway.

They also have 15-day voyages all the way to the Panama Canal. You can see one of the most important construction projects in the world and have plenty of time to unwind, enjoy the sea air and sun. You can also take advantage of the amazing variety of things to do on board. The ship has three elegant restaurants, three swimming pools, a gym, a large theater, and dozen other attractions.

Carnival is also associated with the Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, Windstar Cruises and others. They purchased the famed Cunard Line (owner of the Queen Mary) several years ago. As a result, no matter what kind of voyage you’re interested in, they’ll have something to interest you. Prices vary widely and trips can be tailored to just about any budget.
