Hawaii: Maui
A wonderful family vacation spot is on the island of Maui in Hawaii. If you are planning a family vacation this summer, why not check out the Westin Maui Resort. Here are some highlights of this grand hotel.
Your children will never get bored at this report. With an aquatic playground that includes: five pools, grottos, waterfalls, spa tubs, and a water slide; you will always know where the children will be spending most of their time as the hotel also offers a supervised children’s program.
With their open-air restaurant, poolside grill, and outdoor café that hosts nightly entertainment, the Westin Maui Resort has it all. Children of ages 12 and younger receive complementary meals at most restaurants.
Nestled on a white sandy beach, the resort also has tropical gardens, a full health spa, a sauna, non-smoking air-conditioned rooms, arcade and game room, coffee shop, hair salon, fitness equipment, and much more.
The rooms offer private, furnished lanais, with island décor; refrigerator, TV, coffee maker, bathrobes, child care, iron and ironing board, cribs, and rollaway beds.
Some of the activities you and your family can participate in include: miniature golf, a golf course, snorkeling, whale-watching, bicycle rentals, hiking, horseback riding, helicopter sightseeing, and a nearby playground. There are many more activities available.
The restaurants offer a wide array of choices. One overlooks Kaanapali Beach and is an open-air restaurant offering fresh island seafood and grilled food as well. The poolside bar and grill offers breakfast buffets, sandwiches, fish, salads, and tapas. The dining room café, overlooking the ponds and waterfalls, serves light foods throughout the day. There is also a food stand near the pool and beach area where you can obtain cold drinks and snacks.
The Westin Maui Resort also has a Kids’ Club that offers cultural activities for children ages 5 to 12.
Spending your family vacation at an island report in Maui that caters to families has become the norm, rather than the exception. In year’s past, Maui was considered the “honeymooner’s” island.
With more visitors to Hawaii than ever before, it seems only fitting that some of the hotels on the island of Maui have changed their collective mind-set and offer a family vacation resort that provides a myriad of activities and clubs for everyone to enjoy.

Well, recently it has been a mixed period of weather for most of us. Many of northern parts of the United States have had snow and even some parts of Western Europe have had a small dusting. It makes me dream of getting away from it all and I start to think of my best beach vacations.
Let’s assume money and distance are no object (yeah we can all dream!) and going just for what would be my choice of best beach vacations - it has to be Hawaii.
There’s so much you can do and so many places you can do it! You can lay around on the beach all day beach relaxing; break that up with a long swim in the beautiful oceans, and then relax a bit more.
If you’re feeling more energetic, you could play some golf at one of the amazing courses and then indulge yourself in one of the spa treatments available. Hawaii boasts some of the best weather in the world - making it an easy choice for my best beach vacations destination.
So, having decided that Hawaii is my ultimate location for my best beach vacations - where would I go? Let’s look at the some of the options.
1) The Kona Village Resort
The Kona Village Resort has a good selection of activities including water-based activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, fishing, scuba diving, and glass bottom boat tours. If water is not your thing, you could always try volleyball or tennis.
2) Molokai Ranch and Lodge
Sited on the Hawaiian island of Molokai, you would stay in comfortable yet unique tents. Now, these are not boy-scout tents. Each tent forms a canvas bungalow and sits on wooden platforms. They provide a selection of queen size beds or twin beds, solar powered lights and a private bathroom with hot water showers. All the comforts of home!
Boredom is not an option at the Molokai Ranch and Lodge as it has over 54,000 acres, boasting seaside cliffs and very lush valleys. Outdoor activities include sea kayaking, cultural hikes, mountain biking, and even horseback rides. So, not just one of my best beach vacations - there is a lot more to do here as well besides laying on the beach.
3) Grand Wailea Resort and Spa
Long ago, a big swimming pool was enough to make guests happy. Nowadays, with so much competition to be the top of the list of best beach vacations, resorts compete with water activities such as lagoons, waterfalls, water slides, and even lazy rivers.
The Grand Wailea Resort has a range of facilities; including a massive Hibiscus pool (about 4,600 square foot) and a Canyon Activity pool which at 25,700 square foot and is great for the family and sure to mean they add it to their list of best beach vacations as well.
4) Kahala Mandarin Oriental
If being pampered gets a place to the top of your list of best beach vacations then the Kahala Mandarin Oriental is the place for you. Conveniently located near Honolulu and Waikiki Beach, you can choose from the spa, classes in scuba diving or to swim with the dolphins - always a favorite.
Whether you’re a new visitor to Hawaii or returning, it offers unique experiences that will guarantee it’s impossible not to count your trip as one of your best beach vacations ever.
For a limited time, you can SAVE BIG on Hawaiian Hotels and Air - up to 75% OFF!!!

March 12, 2008 by Lisa · Leave a Comment
Personally, I have never been on a cruise but I know people who have and they rave about them. There are plenty of reasons for considering a cruise.
You could just want to get away from it all. There is no rushing around. There are few if any problems with missing your arrival times. There are lost of other reasons that maybe I should consider a cruise in future:
- It’s affordable. All vacations cost money and cruises are no less expensive than other quality destinations when you consider all that is included.
- A chance to do new things. Both on and off ship, the facilities are fantastic and there is sure to be sonmething that will help you pass the time.
- There is plenty to see. You can travel to an ever increasing varitey of laces on a large selection of cruise lines.
- Meet new people. Even though they are massive ships, they’re friendly communities too. It’s also a great place for single people too and not reserved for the over 60s as many people think.
I think I need to look into this further……

March 12, 2008 by Hispanic · Leave a Comment
It would be a dream come true if not for the high price to pay when going on a vacation. We all know stressful it gets living in the city, so every now and then, we plan a holiday to a beach resort. Only problem is, the amount it would cost to get there. Most of the time, we just pass on until we’ve saved enough to be able to afford it.
Timeshares is one of the best solution when you want to go on a vacation, specially when you are on a tight budget. When owning a vacation property, timeshare lets you have it without having to pay the actual property cost. What varies is that you still co-own the property while you spend less, a simple example of this would be like in a corporation. Timeshare lets you buy the property wherein you can use it for a certain period of time or have it rented out.
Timeshare is a joint ownership or lease of vacation property by couple or more people who take turns occupying the premises for certain periods. Timeshares aren’t deeded real estate, but are more akin to club membership. You can even have your share rented out so you can earn more from your investment.
Some are Deeded, meaning you own a specific unit/room during a specific week for life. Other timeshares, you buy a certain number of weeks (ie. 30 or 40 weeks.) You use the weeks when you want. You can spread them out over time, or take them all at once. The main difference, is that with the second choice, you don’t always get the same room and week. It’s based on availability.

Tags: Beach VacationsSome Reviews on Skiing at the Big White Resort and Norway
March 4, 2008 by Maxwell Maseko · Leave a Comment
With 16 ski lifts, and a total capacity of over 28,000 skiers every single hour, Big White has the feeling of a small resort whilst still catering for a diverse range of visitors. This means you’re sure to meet new friends on your stay, but you can also find some privacy if that’s what you’d prefer. The Big White has it all when it comes to keeping you happy, and that is why its visitors just keep coming back for more, year on year.
And if you have a family, relax! Big White is fully equipped to handle the needs of family skiing vacations, and the friendly staff help make a completely relaxed atmosphere. At Big White, you’ll feel right at home in any of their comfortable gourmet restaurants, or indeed any of their high quality family themed diners.
Skiing On Geilo in Norway
Geilo’s reputation as one the worlds top skiing resorts lies mainly in its ability to cater for family vacations. With over 10,000 families visiting the slopes each year, Geilo also offers excellent tuition in packages it refers to as the “Family Starter Pack”. This involves tuition for your entire family for the equivalent of $200 a day. This means, that not only can your whole family learn together, but is also means that families with no skiing experience, can go along and after the first day, they will be able to ski on their own.
Although Geilo offers amazing family packages, it would be unfair to say that Geilo is limited to family vacations. Geilo has hosted very serious world sporting events, as well as being the training ground of the national snowboarding and skiing teams. Geilo is available from August/September all the way through to late March and is also considering investing in “Avalanche Technology” which generates snow from water to provide 24/365 skiing. If you have never been to Geilo then I would recommend that you give it a go, although the family image may put certain people off visiting the slope I would suggest that checking it out is the best thing to do. From their website it is clear to see that consistent snowfall, and a good variation in the difficulty of runs, Geilo is a facility that can genuinely cater for everyone; from beginner to professional.
St Anton in Austria
With 8 runs and rising, St Anton has failed to give into pressure from around the world, for man-made slaloms, and safety alterations on runs. When you are skiing on certain sloped in St Anton, you have to have your wits about you, or something dangerous could easily happen. The facility has also gained much acclaim from adrenaline junkies in the snowboarding field, who rank St Anton as being one of the best facilities in the world. St Anton’s rise in snowboarding also came as it followed the new trend of offering night-time, freestyle snowboarding under flood lights and fireworks. This is becoming the new trend in snowboarding, and what better place to do it, than at St Anton.
The area is amazing to look at, and also offers great entertainment for the non-skier, or skier on a night-off! With clubs, pubs and shops all their to service the slopes, it is no wonder that the skiing facility has three 5 star hotels positioned next to the slopes. With all night entertainment within the hotels and all-night snowboarding it really is impossible to get a minutes rest in St Anton. Should you visit it is said that the conditions are best around August, however that’s in the peak of the skiing season, making it impossible to get moving around the slopes. In order to benefit from the best conditions, whilst the slopes are quieter I would say November is the best time. You are also more likely to get discounts from your travel agent at this time.

There are many items you should bring with you when traveling. Even if you are only traveling a few hours away from home, you should always make sure you have proper ID, first aid kit, water, and extra clothing. Because anything can happen while on vacation, you should also have an emergency contact list, cell phone, and any other items you think you may need in case there is an accident. Letting friends and family know where you are going is important as well. When you return, let them know you are back. This is important so people know where you are in case of an emergency at home.
Planning for your vacation is more than deciding which activities to participate in. You will need to book hotel, rental car, airfare, and other items ahead of time in order to get what you want. Depending on who you will be traveling with, you may need to make special accommodations such as booking an aisle seat or renting a large car to hold your luggage.
After arriving at your destination, you should look around to get a better idea of your surroundings. This will allow you to find your way back to the hotel after spending the day sightseeing or spending the day at the beach in Benidorm. If you are planning to take tours of monuments, ruins, museums, and other landmarks, you should bring binoculars, sight map, and other items you think will make your journey more exciting. When traveling with other people, make sure you have enough equipment for them as well. If you don’t want to travel with extra items, then you can buy them when you leave. This can make traveling a little easier.

Another item you should consider buying for your trip is travel insurance. This is additional insurance that will protect you once you leave the US. Because more health plans usually don’t cover medical emergencies that occur outside certain territories, you should buy travel insurance so you will be able to receive proper medical attention when traveling. This insurance can also help protect you if your luggage is lost or stolen, or you need to reschedule your trip do to a family emergency or bad weather conditions. You can purchase travel insurance from cruise ships, travel agents, your insurance company and many other places. The policy you purchase should be enough to cover your entire family. If you are injured and need to be flown home, this will be covered under the policy. If you need to evacuate where you are staying, you will be able to do so quickly. This is one item you should always have with you when traveling to another country.

Each year, a large number of individuals, couples, and families make the decision to travel to Mexico. Most have visited Mexico before. If you are planning a Mexico vacation, and you have never been there before, you may have some concerns. You may be wondering what places are safe for you to visit.
Mexico is like all other countries. There are areas that are known as tourists attractions and then there are other areas that tourists are advised to stay away from. You can easily learn about these areas online. Researching every city and town in Mexico is a long and daunting process. To save time and a costly vacation mistake, you are encouraged to examine the benefits of taking a guided Mexico tour.
Perhaps the greatest benefit of booking a guided tour in Mexico is that you will be with a local who is familiar with the area. Guided tours are held in areas that are considered safe. In addition to showing you around certain areas of Mexico, your tour guide may be able to offer you additional travel tips and suggestions. These suggestions may help you with your vacation after your guide has ended.

If you do not have a preference as to which company you’d like to tour with, you may want to first search for a destination. The destination you select will be important in determining what you will learn and see while on a guided tour.
Many guided tours take place in Cooper Canyon, the Oaxaca Mountains, the Yucatan Peninsula and Baja. In Mexico, Baja is most known for its water activities. Many popular guided tours include whale watching and kayaking. Whether you set out to watch the whales or you select a kayaking tour, you are sure to see Gray whales. Many times, they will come right up to your boat, making for great pictures or video footage.
Cooper Canyon and the Oaxaca Mountains are guided tours that are ideal for those that love to hike. To participate in these tours, it is advised that you receive the proper health clearance. You tour will likely follow trails, but much of the terrain can be rough. The Yucatan Peninsula is ideal for travelers who wish to learn more about the ancient history of Mexico.
The above mentioned destinations in Mexico are just a few of the many. Guided tours are found all across Mexico. If there is particular topic or activity that interests you, you are sure to find a guided tour that will offer you excitement. Hikers often select a hiking tour, boats often opt for boat tours, and history lovers often select tours that focus on the history of Mexico.
In addition to selecting where you’d like to go on a guided tour, you will also need to determine how long you’d like that tour to be. In Mexico, guided tours can last as long as one day or over one week. You should easily be able to determine how long a guided tour is by looking at the price. Weeklong guided tours can cost thousands of dollars, but most of your accommodations are taken care of. Some guided tours can be considered all-inclusive vacations.
Journey Mexico, Siesta Tours, and Ufly Mexico are three of the most well-known guided tour companies in Mexico. You can examine the tours found by these three companies by visiting their online websites or by requesting free travel brochures. If you are interested in finding additional tours, your local travel agent may be able to offer you assistance.
By selecting a guided tour of Mexico, you do not always have to be looking over your shoulder. Vacationing in a safe area with an experienced tour guide is about as carefree as your Mexico vacation can get.
