Aspen Colorado ski resorts are some of the most famous in the country, particularly the Ajax Mountain resort. This resort has been in operation since 1947 and was made popular by having the longest ski lift in the world, at the time.

Of all the Aspen resorts, Ajax Mountain is better suited for intermediates to experts. Due to its steeper slopes, it is not a place recommended to beginners. It is undoubtedly the ideal place for people who really want to challenge and/or people who are experienced of skiing.

The nearby resort of Aspen Highlands is generally preferred by beginners, although it also has some expert slopes. If you are a beginner, or want something a little less challenging and relaxing, and the nearby Buttermilk Mountain is a great place for snowboarding and people just starting out and skiing. With 420 acres, there is plenty of space for everything and with the increasing trend in snowboarding, this may be exactly what you are looking for.

If it’s a thrill you seek, you might want to explore Snowmass, a huge area about 12 miles outside of Aspen. It’s over 4,500 feet high and has 94 funs total. The time it takes to travel the 12 miles from Aspen to Snowmass is roughly the amount of time it can take to skin down some of the longer runs of Snowmass.

With a wide diversity of different types of slopes, there is something to accommodate everyone at Aspen ski resorts. Whether you are just starting out, you are more into snowboarding, or you are an intermediate to expert skier, then you can be absolutely sure that you will find something to suit you.
