What would happen if the city of Las Vegas got 5 inches of rain in one day?
Would it cause severe flooding and erosion?
Could the city recover quickly?

Our normal rain fall is 4 inches a year and we have had 1 so far. 5 inches is likely impossible but Vegas has built various flood controls to direct the water to Lake Mead. BTW an 1 inch of water in desert can cause flooding
Would lthe City survive? We did previous floods that wahsed across the Strip thru Caesars Palace parking and under/;thru Imperial Palace.
That would cause severe flooding. The ground here does not absorb water. When it rains it all stays on top and runs off. We have huge run offs here but even with a little rain they tend to flood. Yes it would recover as it always does.
Yeah, it would cause some havoc, but the rain is something the area could use. It just rained in LV a couple days ago
