According to the Las Vegas Convention Authority, there are 22,286 conventions held in Vegas per year? If you estimate the average attendance is 300 then approx. 6.7 million people come to Las Vegas for conventions yearly.

In two weeks the final numbers for the year will be posted.
—-
34.742 million for Jan-Nov of 2008, down 3.8% from last year.
5.776 million for Jan-Nov of 2008, down 5% from last year.
Room rate is $121, down 9.5% from last year which is related to the loss of convention business.
Gaming revenue is down 9%.
The number is not exactly know and recently down due to the recession. However, conventions are as small as a couple of hundred people to the big ones like ComDex of CES and involve several thousand. I would guess more than 1/4 are conventioners.
It depends on the majority of People that actually goes to the convention. I know there are lots of People because its a convention. But there will be plentiful of People over there.
