We found a form of a short cut to the monorail. Instead of walking all the way through the casino to the back, once you go down the stairs by the Rainforest Cafe, go to the right around the Centrifuge Bar, once you see the casino floor, head to the right and follow along the wall un il you find Registration Area. There is a sign to the left of the exit doors in this area that reads "monorail". Go down the escalator and follow the signs to the monorail. It saved us a few minutes when walking to catch the monorail when we were heading to the Convention Center.

Exacalibur is just across the street, on the opposite corner, from MGM. I haven't made that walk, but I don't think it would be more than 8 minutes. That sounds right.

You need to cross over two pedestrian walkways that go over the streets and then have to walk though the MGM casino floor and part of the MGM shops to get the the Monorail.

It will take around 15 minutes.

Starting from the front door of the Excalibur to the spot where you'd be waiting for the monorail, I'd say 15 - 20 min, assuming you don't get lost.

We always stay at Excalibur because of their great rates and convenience to absolutely everything. It probably does take about 10-15 minutes to walk to the monorail station at MGM, but it is a scenic walk. You don't even realize the time goes by because you are looking at everything in the casino. We go from Excalibur across the walkway to NY NY, and then over to MGM. Honestly a 10 minute walk in Vegas is absolutely nothing! You will find yourself walking for hours at a time. It takes a good 10 or 15 minutes just to walk from Excalibur to Walgreens. I did that on a couple of late night trips to buy cigarettes. It is definitely worth staying at Excalibur- because the monorail is really not that far. Have fun!
