December 7th 1941 is one of the worst days in the history of the United States. It was on this day that the Japanese Navy attacked the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, a day that President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared that would live in infamy The Japanese sank four U.S. Navy battleships and damaged four others. The Japanese also destroyed 188 aircraft of the United States Navy. The loss of life was minimal on the Japanese side, however on the US side, thousands of servicemen and civilians were killed or wounded.
