What Happens In Las Vegas Hotels?

April 12, 2011 by Yolanda Jackson · Leave a Comment

As soon as the name Las Vegas is mentioned we all automatically think of it being a town full of casinos. Yet when you do visit this city which is of course is world renowned for its gambling you will find that there are plenty of other great things to do and see. In this article we take a look at some of the others things happening in this city in relation to what happens in Las Vegas hotels.

When you come to Las Vegas then take a trip to the New York-New York hotel in order to try out their roller coaster. As you will discover this is unlike any other roller coaster you may have seen before as not only does it run outside the hotel but also inside. Since it began running in January 1997 this particular attraction in Las Vegas has every year seen 1 million visitors enjoy all the thrills of it.

This ride begins with a steep hill to help build up the suspense and anticipation of it. Then as you head out of the hotel you are offered an aerial view of the strip from the southern end before you then begin to plummet down a steep drop measuring 144 feet. The rides intensity continues as you make your way through a set of different loops, corkscrews and hills. If that wasn’t enough to make this ride exhilarating it can also reach a speed of 67mph.

Somewhere else to go if you want to see what happens in Las Vegas hotels other than gambling is the MGM Grand. One of these hotels most popular features today is the Lion Habitat which cost a total of $9 million to build and where you have the opportunity to watch African lions enjoying themselves up close and of course which remain the MGM’s emblem.

But be prepared as you won’t see the same set of lions here every day as each day they arrange to change them over with other sets. When not at the hotel the lions remain out at the 8.5 acre ranch that is located just 12 miles from it.

However if you are looking to do something a little more exciting than view lions or ride a roller coaster then head over to the Stratosphere. You can do a sky jump from here if you want that is very similar to sky diving but your free fall is controlled.

When you reach the 108th floor of the Stratosphere Tower you will be placed in the requisite safety gear and then the harness you wear is attached to a vertical zip line. Now all you need to do is take one small step off the platform and you then dive 855 feet towards the ground to land on a mat. As you ride down the zip line don’t be surprised at the speed you travel as you can be travelling at around 40mph and the breeze you feel as you descend feels totally unique.

Above we have shown you just some of the other things on offer and what happens in Las Vegas hotels today. If you do make the decision to visit Las Vegas in the future we would recommend that you spend at least a week there to enjoy all that this amazing place has to offer.

April 12, 2011 by Mark Walters · Leave a Comment

Greece is a land like no other. Its wealth of spectacular architecture, gleaming beaches, and beautiful weather place it at the top of many vacationers’ destination lists. It is because not many regions anywhere on Earth can claim the features and attractions of Greece that it is a favorite locale amongst tourists. Planning an excursion to Greece may prove difficult, however, due to the sheer amount of things to do there. Regardless of the sights you choose to visit, there are some must see attractions in Greece you must encounter.

Possibly the most recognized feature of Greece is the Acropolis. This ancient city is a testament to perseverance in the face of war and passing time. High on a hill, it presents a breathtaking vista from afar and veritably glows in the setting sun. The most distinct aspect of the Acropolis is arguably the Parthenon. Built in dedication to the Greek goddess Athena, this beautiful example of Doric architecture beckons tourists with its grandiose allure and deep-rooted history. Carvings upon the structure known as metopes depict various battles and incidents derived from Greece’s past.

A Greek vacation should also include a trip to the island of Crete. It was here, centuries ago, that the Minoans established a hub of their society. This is recognized by many historians as the first true bed of civilization. Chania is one of Crete’s largest cities, and it offers visitors a look into the history of this part of the world. The buildings and homes here date all the way back to the Venetian era. And just on the outskirts of Chania are found some of the islands most spectacular beaches. Swimmers and sunbathers are not limited to the beaches here, though, as plenty of spans of beautiful sand are found all over Crete.

Each summer, visitors are treated to the Hellenic Festival, a celebration and promotion of the performing arts. Revelers can enjoy music and dance at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus Theatre, a venue in which performers from all over the world show their skills. Popular music is also represented in concerts on top of Lykavittos Hill. Connoisseurs of the theatre will delight in plays conducted at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus as well as at the Little Theatre of Epidaurus.

Greece is a country that appeals to the tastes of all sorts of people. Whether you enjoy the great outdoors, love to visit historic sites, or take in a play, there is something for you in this Mediterranean paradise. Its history and entertainment are unmatched.

Herman Cain A 2012 Republican Presidential Candidate

April 12, 2011 by Derek Thomas · Leave a Comment

After his official announcement that he would be forming an exploratory committee to run for president in 2012, Herman Cain has faced a lot of questions about his ability to survive a republican primary and not to mention topple Obama in the general election. However, there has been a lot of talk about the other republican hopefuls for president in 2012 and it’s looking pretty bleak for them due to their past policy and personal life issues.

Cain, some republicans believe, will come out strong in the primary due to his socially conservative values that are sure to inspire many Iowans next year. Furthermore he is free from the personal scandals affecting some of the other possible candidates. In terms of electability, he might just be more electable than some of the stronger names out there. His background in business and being a Washington outsider will surely open the eyes of some Tea Party activists, especially with his stance on permanent tax cuts for business and citizens and downsizing big government.

With a exhaustive resume that outlines business experience in many major US corporations, Cain might just have the know-how to get us our of our economic mess. The former syndicated conservative talk show host has experience as a CEO of the major pizza chain Godfather’s Pizza, as a business analyst for Coke, and an executive for the Pillsbury company. With this experience in the private sector he says he knows how we can solve the economic crisis. The first is to get major businesses to start hiring again and we can do that only by making major tax reform and deregulate harmful laws to businesses. This he argues, will allow businesses to grow and become more profitable, thus hire more workers. If more Americans are working, then they will have a steady income stream that they can invest back into the American economy.

He argues that congress should have made the Bush tax cuts permanent rather than merely extending them for only two years. He further states that taxes should not only be cut, but that we should implement a fair tax. The fair tax plan involves doing away with the IRS by abolishing the payroll, income and corporate taxes then implementing a sales tax at the federal level. This means people would only be responsible for pay taxes for consumer goods and services. Again, he argues, businesses can’t grow when government is taking a major share of earned profits. In 1994 when Bill and Hillary Clinton were establishing their version of health care reform, that later was rejected, Cain appeared in a town hall forum where Bill Clinton was speaking. Cain asked Clinton what he is supposed to tell his employees after he is forced to lay many of them off for mandated government health care costs. Clinton responded by saying the costs for his health care plan would only increase business expense by one-and-a-half percent. Cain responded by telling Clinton his calculation is incorrect.

Cain has stated that he can no longer sit back on his radio show and do nothing while the economy is in shambles. And has taken a serious look at the other candidates and believes he is true conservative running in this race. He can no longer support Romney, as he did in 2008, because of the Romneycare a Massachusetts government health care plan similar to Obama’s. Cain has spoken at over 40 Tea Party events across the country and hoping to gather support in the coming months.
